Colour contrast on the Web

Have you ever thought about how people with various degrees of colour blindness or visual impairments see your web site?

If you work primarily with black on white, you probably don’t need this tool, but if you like to play with various background and font colours, you might want to download this free Colour Contrast Analyzer for Windows.

It allows you to select foreground and background colours with an eyedropper tool or colour palette, and it will score your selections based on the W3C’s suggested colour contrast algorithm.

It also has an option to show the results for the different types of colour blindness; protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia.
