Wendy Woudstra’s career has spanned freelance writing, multiple roles within the publishing industry, and several decades as an application developer. Long before she began writing fiction, she was immersed in the mechanics of how books are made, marketed, and sustained, an experience that continues to shape her understanding of story and structure.

After years spent building software systems and digital infrastructure, she returned to long-form storytelling with a particular fascination for quiet histories and the complexities of relationships. She now writes stories that explore buried secrets, local histories, and the unintended consequences of truths resurfacing.

The archive reflects her longstanding interest in the publishing ecosystem and her commitment to bringing clarity and structure to the business of books, and the owner and lead developer of SmarterWriter.com, a platform to help writers manage their projects, queries and submissions.

She lives in Ontario, where she is currently working on several books and stories, including a cozy, a corporate suspense, and a stand-alone middle grade adventure novel.
